Prescription drug
Manufacturer / Marketer : GALDERMA PHARMA
About: Aklief Cream 30gm is a topical retinoid medicine containing trifarotene, used for the treatment of acne vulgaris on the face and trunk in adolescents and adults.
Usage Instructions: Apply a thin layer of cream once daily in the evening on clean, dry skin of the affected area, avoiding eyes, lips, mucous membranes and broken or eczematous skin, or as directed by a dermatologist.
Benefits: Helps reduce acne lesions such as comedones, papules and pustules, improves overall skin texture and may help limit new breakouts with regular use.
How it Works: Trifarotene is a selective retinoic acid receptor gamma (RARγ) agonist that normalizes keratinization, reduces inflammation and prevents clogging of pores, thereby treating and preventing acne lesions.
Side Effects: Common side effects include skin dryness, redness, peeling, burning or stinging sensations, and increased sensitivity to sunlight; severe irritation or allergic reactions require medical attention.
Safety Advice: For external use only; use sunscreen and protective clothing due to photosensitivity risk, avoid other irritating topical products (like harsh scrubs or strong acids) unless advised, and consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Storage: Store at room temperature below 25°C, protect from excessive heat and direct light, and keep the tube tightly closed and out of reach of children.
