Prescription drug
Manufacturer / Marketer : ASTRUM HEALTH CARE
About: Ampirok 375mg Tablet 10's is an oral antibiotic that combines ampicillin with the beta-lactamase inhibitor sulbactam (as sultamicillin tosilate), used to treat various susceptible bacterial infections.
Usage Instructions: Take the tablet orally with water, before or after food as advised, at evenly spaced intervals; complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Benefits: Effective against a wide range of infections including respiratory, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue and certain sexually transmitted infections when used as directed.
How it Works: Sultamicillin is a mutual prodrug of ampicillin and sulbactam; ampicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while sulbactam inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes, protecting ampicillin from degradation and broadening its spectrum.
Side Effects: Nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, rash or allergic reactions can occur; severe hypersensitivity, breathing difficulty or persistent diarrhoea require urgent medical attention.
Safety Advice: Use only on prescription; caution in history of penicillin allergy, liver or kidney disease and pregnancy; do not use for viral infections like cold or flu.
Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight; keep the strip out of reach of children.
