Title
Apidra Cartridge 100IU/ml 3ml (Pack)
Prescription drug
About: Apidra cartridge contains insulin glulisine, a rapid-acting insulin analog used in adults and children with diabetes mellitus to control post‑meal blood glucose, supplied as 100 IU/ml solution in 3 ml cartridges for insulin pens.
Usage Instructions: Inject subcutaneously shortly (0–15 minutes) before or soon after meals as directed by the doctor, using compatible insulin pens; rotate injection sites and never share pens or needles.
Benefits: Provides fast onset and short duration control of meal‑time glucose spikes, helping improve overall glycaemic control and reduce risk of long‑term diabetes complications.
How it Works: Insulin glulisine facilitates uptake of glucose into muscle and fat cells and inhibits glucose production in the liver, rapidly lowering blood glucose after injection.
Side Effects: Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar), injection site reactions, lipodystrophy and allergic reactions may occur; severe hypoglycaemia needs immediate treatment.
Safety Advice: Use only under medical supervision; monitor blood glucose regularly, adjust dose in kidney/liver impairment and during illness or change of diet/physical activity, and do not mix with other insulins unless specifically instructed.
Storage: Store unopened cartridges in a refrigerator at 2–8°C; do not freeze; in‑use cartridges may be kept at room temperature as per label instructions and must be discarded after the stated period.
