Title
Apigat 5mg Tablet 30's
Prescription drug
About: Apigat 5mg Tablet contains apixaban, an oral anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots and reduce risk of stroke in conditions like non‑valvular atrial fibrillation, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
Usage Instructions: Take the tablet with or without food, usually twice daily as prescribed; swallow whole with water and do not stop suddenly without consulting the doctor.
Benefits: Helps prevent formation and growth of harmful blood clots, lowers risk of stroke in atrial fibrillation and treats DVT/PE or prevents recurrence following initial therapy.
How it Works: Apixaban directly inhibits Factor Xa, a key enzyme in the coagulation cascade, thereby reducing thrombin generation and clot formation.
Side Effects: Bleeding (nosebleeds, bruising, gum bleeding), anaemia and nausea may occur; serious bleeding (e.g., in brain, gut) requires urgent medical care.
Safety Advice: Use strictly under medical supervision; caution in kidney/liver impairment, recent surgery or bleeding disorders; avoid combining with other anticoagulants/NSAIDs unless advised and inform healthcare providers before procedures.
Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place away from light; keep blister packs out of children’s reach.
