AboutApixaheart 2.5 Tablet contains Apixaban 2.5mg, an anticoagulant (blood thinner) used to prevent stroke, blood clots in atrial fibrillation, and prevent/treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).Usage Instructions: Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice daily with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Take at the same times daily. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice (increased clot risk). Continue for prescribed duration.Benefits: Prevents stroke and systemic embolism in non-valvular atrial fibrillation, prevents DVT/PE after hip/knee replacement surgery, treats existing DVT and PE, prevents recurrent clots, reduces risk of cardiovascular events, provides effective anticoagulation with lower bleeding risk than warfarin.How it Works: Apixaban is a direct Factor Xa inhibitor. It blocks Factor Xa in the coagulation cascade, preventing conversion of prothrombin to thrombin and subsequent fibrin clot formation. This reduces thrombus formation and prevents clot extension. Does not require routine monitoring like warfarin.Side Effects: Common: bleeding (nosebleeds, gum bleeding, bruising), anemia, nausea. Serious: major bleeding (GI, intracranial, retroperitoneal), spinal/epidural hematoma (with neuraxial anesthesia), severe allergic reactions, thrombocytopenia.Safety Advice: Increased bleeding risk; avoid activities with injury risk. Inform all healthcare providers you are on anticoagulant. Do not stop suddenly. Use caution in kidney/liver disease, elderly, or low body weight. Avoid NSAIDs and other blood thinners unless prescribed. Report unusual bleeding, black stools, severe headache, or weakness immediately. Not for use in pregnancy.
