About: Atocor 20mg Tablet contains Atorvastatin 20mg, a statin medication for lowering cholesterol and preventing cardiovascular disease.Usage Instructions: Take once daily at same time, with or without food. Swallow whole with water. Continue long-term with diet and exercise as prescribed.Benefits: Lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, raises HDL cholesterol, prevents heart attack and stroke, treats familial hypercholesterolemia, reduces cardiovascular mortality.How it Works: Inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis; upregulates LDL receptors increasing LDL clearance from blood.Side Effects: Myalgia, headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, elevated liver enzymes, rare: rhabdomyolysis, new-onset diabetes, cognitive effects.Safety Advice: Monitor LFTs and lipid profile.
