AboutCilacar B 5MG Tablet is a combination of Cilnidipine 5mg (calcium channel blocker) and Bisoprolol 5mg (beta blocker) used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce cardiovascular risk.Usage Instructions: Take once daily at the same time, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Continue even if feeling well. Do not stop suddenly (risk of rebound hypertension/angina). Take consistently at the same time daily.Benefits: Effectively lowers high blood pressure with dual mechanism, reduces risk of stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular events, provides better BP control than monotherapy, reduces heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand, improves endothelial function (cilnidipine), suitable for patients requiring combination therapy. How it Works: Cilnidipine blocks L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, causing vasodilation and reducing peripheral resistance. Also blocks N-type channels, providing renal protection and reducing sympathetic activity. Bisoprolol selectively blocks beta-1 receptors in heart, reducing heart rate, contractility, and cardiac output. Together they provide synergistic blood pressure reduction.Side Effects: Common: dizziness, headache, fatigue, bradycardia, peripheral edema (ankle swelling), cold extremities, constipation, nausea. Serious: severe hypotension, severe bradycardia, heart block, worsening heart failure, bronchospasm (in asthmatics), gingival hyperplasia, severe allergic reactions.Safety Advice: Contraindicated in severe bradycardia, heart block, decompensated heart failure, hypotension, severe asthma/COPD, or sick sinus syndrome. Use caution in diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, liver disease, or thyroid disorders. Monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and for signs of heart failure. Do not discontinue abruptly (taper beta blocker). Grapefruit juice may increase cilnidipine levels. Inform doctor of dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, or swelling.Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep in original packaging. Keep out of reach of children. Do not remove from blister until ready to use.
