AboutEmpaverse M5/500 Tablet is a combination of Empagliflozin 5mg and Metformin 500mg used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when dual therapy is required.Usage Instructions: Take twice daily with meals, or as directed by your doctor. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Take consistently at the same time(s) daily with food to reduce GI upset. Individualize dose based on glycemic response and tolerability.Benefits: Improves glycemic control in type 2 diabetes, lowers fasting and postprandial blood glucose, reduces HbA1c, promotes weight loss, provides cardiovascular and renal protection (empagliflozin), improves insulin sensitivity (metformin), reduces hepatic glucose production, delays diabetes complications. How it Works: Empagliflozin inhibits SGLT-2 in kidneys, preventing glucose reabsorption and promoting urinary glucose excretion. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces intestinal glucose absorption, and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity. Together they provide complementary glucose-lowering mechanisms.Side Effects: Common: genital mycotic infections, urinary tract infections, increased urination, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, metallic taste, lactic acidosis (rare). Serious: ketoacidosis (even with normal blood sugar), severe dehydration, hypoglycemia (when combined with insulin/sulfonylureas), vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use.Safety Advice: Monitor blood glucose and kidney function regularly. Maintain adequate hydration. Recognize symptoms of ketoacidosis (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, breathing difficulties). Temporarily discontinue before surgery, prolonged fasting, or iodinated contrast procedures. Avoid excessive alcohol. Use caution in kidney disease. Not for type 1 diabetes or DKA. Inform doctor of genital infections, dehydration, or unusual fatigue.Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep in original packaging. Keep out of reach of children.
