AboutEmpaverse S 10/100 Tablet is a combination of Empagliflozin 10mg and Sitagliptin 100mg used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus inadequately controlled on metformin monotherapy.Usage Instructions: Take once daily with or without food, or as directed by your doctor. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Take consistently at the same time daily. Individualize dose based on glycemic response and tolerability.Benefits: Improves glycemic control in type 2 diabetes, lowers fasting and postprandial blood glucose, reduces HbA1c by 1.5-2%, promotes weight loss (empagliflozin), provides cardiovascular and renal protection, enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion (sitagliptin), low risk of hypoglycemia, once-daily dosing improves compliance.How it Works: Empagliflozin inhibits SGLT-2 in renal proximal tubules, preventing glucose reabsorption and promoting urinary glucose excretion (independent of insulin). Sitagliptin inhibits DPP-4 enzyme, increasing incretin hormones (GLP-1, GIP) which stimulate glucose-dependent insulin release and suppress glucagon secretion. Dual mechanism targets renal glucose handling and incretin pathway.Side Effects: Common: genital mycotic infections, urinary tract infections, increased urination, nasopharyngitis, headache, upper respiratory infection. Serious: ketoacidosis (even with normal blood sugar), severe dehydration, hypersensitivity reactions (angioedema, anaphylaxis, SJS), pancreatitis, severe joint pain, acute kidney injury.Safety Advice: Monitor blood glucose and kidney function regularly. Maintain adequate hydration. Recognize symptoms of ketoacidosis. Temporarily discontinue before surgery or prolonged fasting. Use caution in kidney disease. Not for type 1 diabetes or DKA.
