GABA 100 mg Tablet 10 Tablets
Prescription drug
About:
GABA 100 mg Tablet contains gabapentin 100 mg and is used to manage neuropathic (nerve) pain and as adjunct therapy in certain types of seizures. It may also be prescribed in conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, post‑herpetic neuralgia and fibromyalgia as decided by the physician.
Usage Instructions Take the tablet orally with water, with or without food, at the same time each day as advised by your doctor. Do not stop the medicine abruptly; the dose should be tapered under medical supervision to avoid withdrawal or seizure worsening.
Benefits Helps reduce burning, shooting or stabbing nerve pain and improves sleep and quality of life in neuropathic conditions. When used in epilepsy, it assists in controlling partial seizures when combined with other antiepileptic medicines.
How it Works Gabapentin binds to specific subunits of voltage‑gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters that transmit pain and seizure signals. This decreases abnormal neuronal firing and dampens neuropathic pain pathways.
Side Effects Common side effects include dizziness, sleepiness, fatigue, nausea and unsteadiness. Seek medical advice if you develop severe mood changes, suicidal thoughts, persistent swelling of legs, or breathing difficulty.
Safety Advice Use with caution in kidney impairment, elderly patients and those with a history of depression or substance misuse; dose adjustment may be needed. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medicine affects you, as it may cause drowsiness and dizziness.
Storage Store at room temperature away from excess heat and moisture, in the original blister pack. Keep out of reach of children.
