AboutGemisartan H 80 Tablet is a combination of Telmisartan 80mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients whose BP is not adequately controlled by telmisartan alone.Usage Instructions: Take once daily at the same time, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Continue even if feeling well. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice. Take consistently at the same time daily.Benefits: Effectively lowers high blood pressure with dual mechanism, reduces risk of stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular death, provides better BP control than monotherapy, reduces fluid retention (hydrochlorothiazide), provides renal protection (telmisartan), provides 24-hour BP control, suitable for patients with diabetes, chronic kidney disease, or high cardiovascular risk. How it Works: Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II receptors (ARB), causing vasodilation and reducing aldosterone secretion. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that increases sodium and water excretion, reducing plasma volume and peripheral resistance. Together they provide synergistic blood pressure reduction through complementary pathways (RAAS inhibition + diuresis).Side Effects: Common: dizziness, headache, fatigue, hypotension, electrolyte imbalances (low potassium, sodium), increased urination, constipation, nausea, back pain, upper respiratory infection. Serious: severe hypotension, acute kidney injury, severe electrolyte disturbances, angioedema (rare), severe allergic reactions, gout flare, glucose intolerance.Safety Advice: Contraindicated in pregnancy (ARBs cause fetal toxicity), severe kidney disease, anuria, or hypersensitivity to sulfonamides. Use caution in diabetes, gout, liver disease, or electrolyte imbalances. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes (potassium, sodium) regularly. May increase blood sugar and uric acid. Inform doctor of dizziness, fainting, muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat, or decreased urination. Maintain adequate hydration. Avoid potassium supplements unless prescribed.Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep in original packaging. Keep out of reach of children. Do not remove from blister until ready to use.
