Prescription drug
About:
Glycoflo Neb Transpules 5 x 2 ml is an inhalation solution used as maintenance therapy in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It contains glycopyrronium bromide, a long‑acting anticholinergic bronchodilator that helps improve airflow and reduce COPD symptoms.
Usage Instructions Use the contents of one transpule in a nebuliser device as instructed by your doctor or respiratory therapist; do not swallow the solution. Inhale the mist steadily through the mouthpiece or face mask and follow the prescribed frequency; do not use more often than advised.
Benefits Helps relieve chronic symptoms such as wheezing, cough, chest tightness and shortness of breath in COPD patients. Regular use can improve lung function and exercise tolerance when combined with other COPD management strategies like smoking cessation and pulmonary rehabilitation.
How it Works Glycopyrronium bromide blocks muscarinic receptors in airway smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation and sustained opening of the airways. This reduces airflow obstruction and makes breathing easier over a prolonged duration.
Side Effects Common side effects may include dry mouth, upper respiratory tract infection, sore throat, urinary tract infection and nausea. Seek medical attention if you experience difficulty urinating, eye pain, blurred vision, severe allergic reactions or paradoxical bronchospasm (worsening breathing).
Safety Advice Not for relief of acute bronchospasm or sudden breathing attacks; patients should have a rescue inhaler for emergencies. Use cautiously in glaucoma, prostate enlargement, bladder obstruction and other conditions where anticholinergics may worsen symptoms, and only under medical supervision.
Storage Store the sealed foil pouch and individual ampoules at room temperature, protected from light and heat. Use each ampoule immediately after opening and discard any unused solution; keep out of reach of children.
