AboutGlykart MG1 Tablet is a combination of Glimepiride 1mg and Metformin 500mg used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are inadequate.Usage Instructions: Take once or twice daily with meals, or as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Take consistently at the same time(s) daily. Start with low dose and titrate based on blood sugar response.Benefits: Improves glycemic control in type 2 diabetes, lowers fasting and postprandial blood glucose, reduces HbA1c, enhances insulin sensitivity, stimulates insulin secretion, reduces hepatic glucose production, delays diabetes complications.How it Works: Glimepiride stimulates pancreatic beta cells to release insulin (insulin secretagogue) by blocking ATP-sensitive potassium channels. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces intestinal glucose absorption, and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity (insulin sensitizer).Side Effects: Common: hypoglycemia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, metallic taste, headache, dizziness, weight gain. Serious: severe hypoglycemia, lactic acidosis (rare), vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use, liver dysfunction, hemolytic anemia in G6PD deficiency.Safety Advice: Monitor blood glucose regularly. Recognize and treat hypoglycemia (carry glucose tablets). Avoid excessive alcohol. Use caution in elderly, kidney or liver disease. Monitor kidney function and vitamin B12 levels periodically. Contraindicated in type 1 diabetes, DKA, severe renal impairment, or metabolic acidosis. Inform doctor of illness, surgery, or unusual fatigue.Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place.
