Prescription drug
Manufacturer / Marketer : EYSYS ATHENA
About: Gosita DM Forte Tablet is a triple combination antidiabetic tablet containing dapagliflozin, metformin and sitagliptin (DPP‑4 inhibitor) for adults with type 2 diabetes not adequately controlled with dual therapy.
Usage Instructions: Take with meals to reduce GI side effects of metformin; follow the dose schedule strictly and do not skip doses.
Benefits: Offers complementary mechanisms: improved insulin sensitivity, reduced hepatic glucose output, enhanced incretin effect and increased urinary glucose excretion, helping lower HbA1c and weight.
How it Works: Metformin lowers hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral uptake; sitagliptin increases incretin hormones to boost meal‑time insulin; dapagliflozin promotes urinary glucose loss by inhibiting SGLT2 in the kidney.
Side Effects: GI upset, genital/urinary infections, dehydration, hypoglycaemia (with other agents) and rare lactic acidosis with metformin.
Safety Advice: Contraindicated in severe renal impairment; monitor renal parameters and volume status; avoid excessive alcohol and follow dietary advice.
Storage: Store at room temperature below 30°C in a dry place.
