About: Goutfree 40 XL Tablet contains febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to manage gout and hyperuricaemia by lowering high uric acid levels in adults.
Usage Instructions: Take once daily with or without food at the same time each day; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.
Benefits: Helps prevent gout flares, reduces uric acid crystal deposition in joints and kidneys, and may be used in patients receiving chemotherapy with high uric acid.
How it Works: Selectively inhibits xanthine oxidase, the key enzyme in uric acid production, thereby lowering serum urate.
Side Effects: Nausea, rash, abnormal liver tests, joint pain and rarely serious cardiovascular or hypersensitivity reactions.
Safety Advice: Liver function and uric acid levels should be monitored; not for use in asymptomatic mild hyperuricaemia; caution in cardiovascular disease.
Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place.
