About: GP 4mg Tablet contains glimepiride 4 mg, a sulfonylurea used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are inadequate.
Usage Instructions: Take once daily with breakfast or the first main meal; swallow whole and take at the same time each day.
Benefits: Helps lower blood glucose and can be combined with metformin or insulin for better control, reducing long‑term diabetes complications.
How it Works: Stimulates pancreatic beta cells to release more insulin, thereby reducing blood sugar in a glucose‑dependent manner.
Side Effects: Hypoglycaemia (sweating, tremor, hunger), headache, nausea and weight gain may occur.
Safety Advice: Not suitable for type 1 diabetes or ketoacidosis; monitor blood sugar regularly and adjust dose cautiously in renal/hepatic impairment and elderly.
Storage: Store below 25–30°C, away from moisture and heat.
