AboutHepkart 400MG Tablet contains Entecavir 0.5mg or 1mg, an antiviral medication used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults and children.Usage Instructions: Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily on an empty stomach (at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after a meal). Swallow whole with water. Continue even if feeling well. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice (risk of hepatitis flare). Take consistently at the same time daily.Benefits: Suppresses hepatitis B virus replication, reduces HBV DNA levels, improves liver enzyme levels (ALT), reduces liver inflammation and fibrosis, decreases risk of cirrhosis and liver cancer, improves liver histology, provides long-term viral suppression.How it Works: Entecavir is a nucleoside analogue that inhibits HBV DNA polymerase (reverse transcriptase). It competitively inhibits natural deoxyguanosine triphosphate, terminating viral DNA chain elongation. This prevents HBV replication and reduces viral load.Side Effects: Common: headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, elevated liver enzymes. Serious: severe acute exacerbation of hepatitis (if stopped suddenly), lactic acidosis (rare), severe hepatomegaly with steatosis, hypersensitivity reactions, renal impairment.Safety Advice: Do not discontinue without medical supervision (risk of severe hepatitis flare). Monitor liver function and HBV DNA regularly. Use caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment needed). Not a cure for hepatitis B; long-term treatment usually required. Inform doctor of jaundice, severe fatigue, abdominal pain, or dark urine. HIV testing recommended before starting (risk of HIV resistance).
