AboutLoripam 2MG Tablet contains Lorazepam, a benzodiazepine used for short-term management of anxiety disorders, anxiety-associated insomnia, and as premedication before surgical or diagnostic procedures.Usage Instructions: Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Usually 1-2 times daily for anxiety, or at bedtime for insomnia. Swallow whole with water. May be taken with or without food. Do not stop suddenly; taper dose gradually under medical supervision. Use for shortest duration possible (typically 2-4 weeks).Benefits: Relieves symptoms of anxiety (nervousness, tension, irritability), treats anxiety-associated insomnia, provides sedation before medical procedures, manages acute anxiety episodes, reduces panic attacks, helps with alcohol withdrawal symptoms.How it Works: Lorazepam enhances the effect of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. It binds to GABA-A receptors, increasing chloride ion influx, causing neuronal hyperpolarization and reduced neuronal excitability, resulting in anxiolytic, sedative, muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant effects.Side Effects: Common: drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, unsteadiness, confusion, memory impairment, dry mouth, blurred vision. Serious: respiratory depression (especially with opioids/alcohol), dependence and withdrawal, paradoxical reactions (agitation, aggression), severe allergic reactions, suicidal thoughts, jaundice.Safety Advice: Risk of dependence and addiction; use only as prescribed for short-term. Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants. Do not drive or operate machinery. Contraindicated in pregnancy, breastfeeding, severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea, myasthenia gravis, or acute narrow-angle glaucoma. Elderly at higher risk of falls and confusion.
