Ondero 5 mg Tablet 15 Tablets
Prescription drug
About:
Ondero 5 mg Tablet contains linagliptin 5 mg, a DPP‑4 inhibitor used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate blood glucose control. It can be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines such as metformin, sulfonylureas or insulin as prescribed.
Usage Instructions Take one tablet once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as directed by your diabetologist. Swallow whole with water and do not exceed the prescribed dose or stop treatment without medical advice.
Benefits Helps lower fasting and post‑meal blood sugar, reducing long‑term risk of diabetes‑related complications when combined with diet and exercise. Linagliptin has minimal renal excretion, so dose adjustment is usually not required in kidney impairment, which is advantageous in many diabetic patients.
How it Works Linagliptin inhibits the DPP‑4 enzyme, increasing levels of incretin hormones that stimulate insulin release and decrease glucagon secretion when blood glucose is high. This glucose‑dependent mechanism improves glycaemic control with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used without sulfonylureas or insulin.
Side Effects Common side effects may include hypoglycaemia (especially with sulfonylurea/insulin), headache, cough, nasopharyngitis or gastrointestinal upset. Seek medical attention if you experience severe joint pain, pancreatitis symptoms (persistent severe abdominal pain) or allergic reactions such as rash and swelling.
Safety Advice Use with caution in patients with a history of pancreatitis or severe hepatic impairment and monitor blood glucose regularly. Continue recommended diet, exercise and regular follow‑up; avoid alcohol excess which can affect glycaemic control.
Storage Store below 30°C in a dry place away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
