AboutPrazoneph XL 2.5 Tablet contains Prazosin 2.5mg, an alpha-1 blocker used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and PTSD-related nightmares.Usage Instructions: Take once daily at bedtime (to minimize first-dose hypotension), with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew (extended release). Continue even if feeling well. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice. Take consistently at the same time daily.Benefits: Effectively lowers high blood pressure, treats symptoms of enlarged prostate (BPH), improves urine flow, reduces difficulty urinating, treats PTSD-related nightmares and anxiety, improves blood circulation in Raynaud's disease, manages congestive heart failure.How it Works: Prazosin selectively blocks alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in blood vessels and smooth muscle. This causes vasodilation (relaxation of blood vessels), reducing peripheral resistance and blood pressure. In prostate and bladder neck, it relaxes smooth muscle, improving urine flow. In CNS, it reduces adrenergic activity, reducing nightmares.Side Effects: Common: dizziness, lightheadedness (especially first dose), drowsiness, headache, fatigue, palpitations, nausea. Serious: severe hypotension (fainting), priapism (prolonged painful erection), severe allergic reactions.Safety Advice: First dose may cause severe dizziness/fainting; take at bedtime and rise slowly. Use caution in elderly, liver disease, or heart failure. May cause drowsiness; avoid driving initially. Inform doctor of prolonged erection, severe dizziness, or fainting. Not for use in pregnancy unless absolutely necessary.Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep in original packaging. Keep out of reach of children.
