AboutRantac Injection 2ML contains Ranitidine 25mg/ml, an H2 receptor antagonist used to reduce stomach acid production in conditions like peptic ulcers, GERD, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.Usage Instructions: Administered by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection by healthcare professional. IV: dilute in compatible fluid and infuse slowly over 5 minutes. IM: inject deep into large muscle. Dosage and frequency determined by doctor based on condition. Usually given when oral administration is not possible.Benefits: Treats duodenal and gastric ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and stress ulcers. Prevents postoperative ulcers and aspiration pneumonia. Reduces stomach acid, heartburn, and acid reflux symptoms. Promotes ulcer healing.How it Works: Ranitidine competitively blocks histamine H2 receptors on gastric parietal cells, reducing basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion. Decreases acid volume and concentration, allowing ulcer healing and symptom relief. Also reduces pepsin secretion.Side Effects: Common: headache, dizziness, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, injection site reactions. Serious: confusion (especially in elderly), liver dysfunction, blood disorders (thrombocytopenia), bradycardia (with rapid IV), QT prolongation, pneumonia risk, vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use.Safety Advice: Use caution in elderly, kidney or liver disease (dose adjustment needed). May cause dizziness; use caution when driving. Long-term use may increase fracture risk and cause nutrient deficiencies. Inform doctor of confusion, irregular heartbeat, jaundice, or unusual bleeding.
