AboutRiak 550 Tablet contains Rifaximin 550mg, a non-absorbable antibiotic used to treat hepatic encephalopathy, irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D), and travelers' diarrhea.Usage Instructions: Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually 2-3 times daily with or without food. Swallow whole with water. Complete full course even if symptoms improve. Do not skip doses. For hepatic encephalopathy: typically long-term use. For IBS-D: 14-day course. For travelers' diarrhea: 3-day course.Benefits: Treats hepatic encephalopathy by reducing ammonia-producing gut bacteria, manages IBS-D symptoms (abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea), treats travelers' diarrhea caused by E. coli, reduces bacterial overgrowth in small intestine (SIBO), minimal systemic absorption reduces side effects.How it Works: Rifaximin inhibits bacterial RNA synthesis by binding to beta-subunit of bacterial DNA-dependent RNA polymerase.
