Title
Rofast 10 mg Tablet 10 Tablets
Prescription drug
About:
Rofast 10 mg Tablet contains rosuvastatin 10 mg, a statin used to lower elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels and to reduce cardiovascular risk. It is prescribed in hyperlipidaemia, mixed dyslipidaemia and for prevention of heart attack and stroke in high‑risk patients.
Usage Instructions Take the tablet once daily at a fixed time, with or without food, exactly as directed by your physician. Swallow whole with water and continue therapy long term unless advised otherwise; do not double doses if one is missed.
Benefits Lowers “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while modestly raising “good” HDL cholesterol, helping slow progression of atherosclerosis. Long‑term use reduces risk of coronary events, stroke and need for revascularisation when combined with lifestyle measures.
How it Works Rosuvastatin inhibits HMG‑CoA reductase, the rate‑limiting enzyme in hepatic cholesterol synthesis. Decreased intracellular cholesterol upregulates LDL receptors on hepatocytes, increasing clearance of circulating LDL particles from blood.
Side Effects Common side effects include headache, abdominal pain, nausea, muscle pain or weakness and constipation. Rarely, serious muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis) or liver injury can occur; promptly report severe muscle pain, dark urine, unusual fatigue or jaundice.
Safety Advice Contraindicated in active liver disease and during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use cautiously with other lipid‑lowering drugs and in patients with kidney impairment; periodic liver function and lipid monitoring is recommended.
Storage Store below 30°C, protected from moisture and light, in original packaging. Keep out of reach of children.
