Stator 10 mg Tablet contains atorvastatin 10 mg, a statin used to lower high cholesterol and triglyceride levels and reduce cardiovascular risk. It is indicated in hypercholesterolaemia, mixed dyslipidaemia and for primary or secondary prevention of heart attack and stroke as prescribed.
Usage Instructions Take the tablet once daily at a fixed time, with or without food, as directed by your doctor. Swallow whole with water and continue long term unless your doctor advises otherwise; do not double dose if a dose is missed.
Benefits Lowers “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and modestly raises “good” HDL cholesterol, slowing progression of atherosclerosis. Long‑term use can reduce risk of coronary events and other vascular complications when combined with lifestyle changes.
How it Works Atorvastatin inhibits HMG‑CoA reductase, the key enzyme in hepatic cholesterol synthesis, reducing cholesterol production. This upregulates LDL receptors in the liver, increasing clearance of LDL from the bloodstream.
Side Effects Common side effects include headache, nausea, diarrhoea, muscle pain or weakness and elevated liver enzymes. Rarely, serious muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis) or severe liver injury can occur; report unexplained muscle tenderness, dark urine, extreme fatigue or jaundice immediately.
Safety Advice Contraindicated in active liver disease and during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use with caution in kidney impairment and with other lipid‑lowering or interacting drugs; periodic liver function and lipid profile monitoring is recommended.
