AboutTegcise 50 Tablet is a combination chemotherapy medicine containing Tegafur, Gimeracil, and Oteracil used to treat advanced gastric (stomach) cancer and colorectal cancer.Usage Instructions: Take exactly as prescribed by your oncologist, usually twice daily after meals for 14 days followed by 7 days rest per cycle. Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew.Benefits: Treats advanced gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and other solid tumors. Slows cancer progression, improves survival rates, enhances quality of life when combined with cisplatin or other chemotherapy agents.How it Works: Tegafur is converted to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in the body, inhibiting DNA and RNA synthesis in cancer cells. Gimeracil enhances 5-FU levels by inhibiting its degradation. Oteracil reduces gastrointestinal toxicity by inhibiting 5-FU activation in the gut.Side Effects: Common: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, fatigue, low blood counts (anemia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia), mouth sores, hand-foot syndrome. Serious: severe infection, bleeding, liver dysfunction, severe skin reactions, interstitial lung disease, GI perforation.Safety Advice: Regular blood tests required (CBC, liver/kidney function). Avoid live vaccines. Use effective contraception during and after treatment. Inform doctor of fever, bleeding, severe diarrhea, or breathing difficulties.
