AboutTelmikaa MT 50 Tablet is a combination of Telmisartan 40mg and Metoprolol 50mg used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), reduce cardiovascular risk, and manage angina.Usage Instructions: Take once daily at the same time, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Continue even if feeling well. Do not stop suddenly (risk of rebound hypertension/angina). Take consistently at the same time daily.Benefits: Effectively lowers high blood pressure, reduces risk of stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular death, treats chronic stable angina, manages heart failure, provides dual mechanism for better BP control, reduces heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand, protects kidneys in diabetic patients.How it Works: Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II receptors (ARB), causing vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion. Metoprolol is a beta-1 selective blocker that reduces heart rate, contractility, and cardiac output. Together they provide synergistic blood pressure reduction, reduce cardiac workload, and improve cardiovascular outcomes.Side Effects: Common: dizziness, fatigue, bradycardia (slow heart rate), hypotension, headache, diarrhea, cold extremities. Serious: severe hypotension, heart block, bronchospasm (in asthmatics), worsening heart failure, hyperkalemia, renal impairment, angioedema.Safety Advice: Contraindicated in asthma, severe bradycardia, heart block, decompensated heart failure, or hypotension. Use caution in diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms), kidney disease, or peripheral vascular disease. Monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and kidney function. Do not discontinue abruptly.
